The Valley East Branch is located on Elmview Drive in the Hanmer area, just north of the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre and 1 mile (1.5 km) south of the Hanmer Valley Plaza. The Valley East branch has about 80,000 items in its collection for people of all ages, which include materials in English, French and Multilingual. A photocopy machine is available for public use. Copies are 25¢ each. Six computers are available for public use, for the Internet or for Word Processing. Reservations are recommended. The branch has a programming room with the capacity of 100 people without tables. The room is also available for use by community groups. Audio-visual equipment such as 16mm film projectors, overhead projectors, slide projectors, projection screens and filmstrip viewers are available for rent. Citizen Service Centre Information The Citizen Services Department of the City of Greater Sudbury is a new department (no former Region of Sudbury municipality had a Citizen Services Department) offering Library Services from fourteen branches of which six branches will provide Municipal Services at what are called Citizen Service Centres. The CSC's are being co-located with libraries so that citizens receive comprehensive and cost-effective municipal services through a variety of access points - including in-person visits, telephone, facsimile, e-mail, web and e-government and e-reference solutions. The fourteen public library public library branches meet our citizens' intellectual, educational and recreational needs for information and the access to these resources is free. Our public library is the community's window on the world, providing access to a range of information resources that were unimaginable in years past. A Citizen Service Centre will be located in each of the City of Greater Sudbury's six wards and will provide services (in addition to Library Services) that would have traditionally been accessed at a Municipal Town Hall. The CSC's will be located in Valley East, Garson, Capreol, Chelmsford, Lively and Dowling. The municipal services to be provided would include but are certainly not limited to:
